Sulfur Quartz is a common mineral that crystallizes in the form of masses, tiny prismatic crystals, large, pointed generators, scepters, and double terminated quartz configurations. Historically it’s been referred to as “Brimstone”, due to the smell of rotting eggs when struck together. Its color can range from a light pale yellow to a bold-defining gold that resembles rays of the sun. Although this mineral can be found throughout the world in places such as Canada, Japan, and the United States, the main commercialized deposits are coming out of Brazil.

Quartz is believed to enhance the positive energies of other stones and of the items placed around it. It is also thought to cleanse organs and stimulate the immune system. Sulphur is believed to be a stone of energy, vitality, protection, and purification. It is thought to ease skin problems, digestion, arthritis, backaches, and infections. Sulphur has a very distinctive scent. Please keep this in mind when handling it. Even in the subtler form in the Quartz Crystals, you will notice it. You will probably want to wash your hands afterwards. Lemon and/or baking soda work wonders for releasing the scent.
