One or more small Ammonite Fossils (and an orthoceras here and there) in a shale matrix are polished on one side to show the suture chambers better.

The Ammonites were around from about 400 MA to the last days of the Dinosaurs. People often mistake them for snail shells but they were actually in the cephalopod class including squid, octopi, and cuttlefish. These cephalopods are one of the most successful marine animal groups in prehistory. Kids and adults alike love these pint-sized fossils and they make great educational gifts!

***Color, size, shape, weight and number of specimens will vary between pieces***
