What you need to know about selling crystals

Retailers who buy crystals in bulk are catering to a very engaged and empowered audience with a desire to learn more, so it is important to know enough about the crystals themselves and how to care for them.  Most crystals wholesalers will only worry about making a sale, but Pike’s Peak Rock in Colorado Springs is here to educate you as well.

Here is a summary of how your customers may use crystals:

  • Before selecting a crystal, most buyers will want to look at it and make sure it “vibrates” with them.  The wider your selection of crystals, the more likely your customers will find one that works for them.
  • Customers who are new to crystals may need some help in learning to care for them.  The best way to clean a crystal is to wash it gently with a little salt water or mild dish soap.  Using strong chemicals is not advised, since this can discolor the crystal.  Once dry, the stone can be polished with a jeweler’s cloth.
  • Because most bulk crystals arrive at your store after having been touched by many people, crystal collectors will want to purify their new stone before using it.  Purifying is usually done by holding the crystal over the smoke that comes from a candle or incense, while impressing upon it your intentions as its owner.
  • Bonding is the next step, and it involves tuning the stone to match your mind and vibration.  This is usually done in just a few minutes by holding the crystal in your hand long enough to know its shape, color and imperfections, and creating an impression of it on the mind.
  • Finally, it is time to empower the crystal by assigning it any purpose that you want it to hold. From here, the stone becomes the intermediary between thought and physical reality.  By focusing intently for a few minutes, you will transfer your intentions to the crystal, empowering it with those same intentions.
